Mix with sugar ,flour and lemon juice. Pour mulberries and rhubarb into the pie pan and add remaining flour mixture. Place top crust, cut steam vents, and flute edges. I wish I could say this mulberry pie recipe was passed down from my mom.

Steps to make Mulberry pie:
  1. For crust: cut or grate butter to small pieces.
  2. Add salt to flour and mix. Then mix saltef flour & butter lightly til crumble like or form small pea-sized ball. Dont over mix.
  3. Add cold water a tablespoon at a time til dough starting to form together. Mix lightly. Do not overwork the dough.
  4. Split to 2 parts, wrap in cling flim and refregirate for at least 30 min.
  5. Take out one of the dough, roll it and place in a pie dish. Cool again a fridge while preparing the filling.
  6. While cooling the dough, wash and remove stem of 3 cups of mulberry.
  7. Add sugar, flour and lemon juice.
  8. Crack 1 egg and separate white and yolk. Brush egg white to the pie crust in the dish before putting the filling in.
  9. Take the other half of the dough and roll it flat to make the cover of the pie. Cover completely then cut slits to let air/steam out or make a lattice top.
  10. Brush egg yolk on the top. Bake in preheated oven, 180 degC for 15-20 mins.
  11. Cool b4 serve o its own or with vanilla ice cream.

Sadly, mom was not much of a baker. In fact, mom baked three things: Kileche, Kadeh, and her delicious Orange Cake. Surprisingly, she didn't even make jam with the mulberries from our tree.
